REMAIN CUSTODIANS OF JUSTICE
A believer should always be conscious of upholding truth and advocating justice.
“O you who believe! Be custodians of justice, as witnesses to God, even if it against yourselves, or your parents,
or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for God can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), less you deviate, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, then indeed God is well-acquainted with all that you do”
COMMIT NO EXCESS, GOD'S EARTH IS SPACIOUS - MIGRATE IF REQURED
From a Quran's perspective, one cannot plead that the pressure of adverse circumstances forced one to endure difficulties, or that in one's lack of action they allowed injustices to afflict them and on others. If the conditions
do not allow one to act in accordance to their faith, then we must be prepared to suffer exile and ostracism.
It may be that we will have to change our homes,
jobs, towns, cities or even migrate to other lands. We may have to change our positions in life or indeed the nature of our social relationships. It is ultimately God's pleasure we seek and our integrity before our Creator is more important than any of the
The Earth belongs to God alone. It does not belong to us, or our forefathers. God remains its sole inheritor.
Believers do not tolerate injustices against them or in response, inflict injustices on others. Our means and sustenance is only from our Lord and He is ample means for us.
"Indeed, those whom the angels cause to die while they are unjust to their souls, they shall say: In what state were you? They said: WE WERE WEAK /
OPPRESSED IN THE EARTH. They said: "WAS GOD'S EARTH NOT SPACIOUS, SO THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE MIGRATED (Arabic: Hajiru) IN IT? So these it is whose abode is hell, and it is an evil resort” [4.97]
“Say: "O My servants who believe! Fear your Lord. For those who do good in this world there is good AND GOD'S EARTH IS SPACIOUS. Those who patiently persevere
will truly receive a reward in full""[39.10]
servants who believe! Indeed, MY EARTH IS SPACIOUS, therefore only serve Me! Every soul shall have a taste of death. Then to Us you will be brought back” [29.56-57]
NOT EVERYONE HAS THE MEANS TO MIGRATE. FOR THESE, THERE IS AN EXCEPTION
the feeble / oppressed among men, and the women, and the children, who are unable to devise a plan and are not shown a way. As for such, it may be that God will pardon them. God is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving” [4.98-99]
THE REQUIREMENT FOR HIJRAT UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES WAS EVEN APPLICABLE AT THE TIME OF THE PROPHET
“And whoever emigrates in the way of God, will find in the Earth places of much refuge and abundance. And whoever forsakes his home as an emigrant to God and His messenger and death overtakes
him, his reward is then incumbent on God. And God is Oft-Forgiving, Merciful" [4.100]
those who believed and emigrated and strove with their wealth and their lives in the way of God, and those who took them in and helped them: some of these are protecting friends one of another. And those who believed but did not emigrate, you have no duty
to protect them till they emigrate. And if they seek help from you in the matter of religion then it is your duty to help (them) except against a people between whom and you there is a treaty. And God is Seer of what you do” [8.72]
Believers should always endeavour to speak
the truth and must never inflict or tolerate injustices. However, if all reasonable attempts to resolve a situation fail and life or property are at risk under sustained oppression, believers should be prepared to emigrate to different lands by putting complete
faith and trust in God (tawakul-Allah).
To endure repeated oppression when the ability to emigrate is possible is not a viable excuse from
a Quranic perspective.
